Jason T. Brown Selected to 2027 New Jersey Super Lawyers List as Brown, LLC Expands National Whistleblower Practice
Table of Contents
Jason T. Brown, founder and managing partner of Brown, LLC, has been selected to the 2027 New Jersey Super Lawyers list in Employment & Labor. The selection comes as Brown, LLC continues to invest in its national whistleblower and False Claims Act practice, assembling a team with experience investigating fraud, presenting evidence to the government, and litigating cases when the government declines to intervene.
“I appreciate the recognition, but this is not a one-lawyer story,” Brown said. “A whistleblower may be going up against a corporation with virtually unlimited resources. I have spent years building a team with the experience to investigate the allegations, develop the proof, and stay in the fight. Our clients deserve that.”
Brown, a former FBI Special Agent and Legal Advisor, leads the practice alongside Patrick Almonrode, who heads the firm’s qui tam work, and other experienced whistleblower litigators. In 2026 the firm added two senior attorneys with substantial federal enforcement backgrounds: Albert Thomas “Tom” Morris, formerly Senior Trial Counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Division Fraud Section, and Raphael Katz, formerly Civil Chief of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Hampshire.
Morris spent nearly two decades at DOJ handling False Claims Act litigation involving healthcare, defense contractors, and federal programs. Katz supervised federal civil enforcement in New Hampshire and previously represented whistleblowers in private practice. Together with the firm’s existing attorneys and legal support staff, the additions increase Brown, LLC’s capacity to assess complex allegations, prepare disclosures, work with investigating agencies, and pursue substantial cases through litigation.
“An insider may have one opportunity to explain what happened and why the documents prove fraud,” Brown said. “The right team helps present that evidence accurately from the beginning. And if the government chooses not to intervene, we have to be prepared to evaluate whether we can litigate the case ourselves.”
Brown, LLC has represented whistleblowers in significant federal resolutions. The firm served as counsel or co-counsel in the Raytheon litigation, which included a $428 million False Claims Act settlement in 2024 as part of an overall Justice Department resolution exceeding $950 million. DOJ identified the FCA component as the second-largest government procurement fraud recovery under the statute at the time. In 2025, Brown, LLC represented a whistleblower in one of the actions resolved through the $350 million Walgreens resolution. Both settlements resolved specified allegations; prior results do not predict future outcomes.
A five-year Lex Machina analysis ranked Brown, LLC second nationally by the number of False Claims Act qui tam lawsuits filed. The firm represents whistleblowers involving healthcare billing, government contracting, procurement, and other alleged fraud against federal programs, and it evaluates potential SEC, CFTC, IRS, and anti-money-laundering whistleblower claims.
Brown also represents employees in wage-and-hour class and collective litigation under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage laws, complementing the firm’s whistleblower and retaliation work.
